lol I know this might sound really nasty but if you flood the emotions its quite easy to get over a phobia. eg. Sceam in her face, punch her in the arm, then push her in the water then she'll know that nothing can be worse then that. JKES dont do that she'll never get over of it. But seriously try getting her just to go snorkling and take her further out and you might get her back into diving. Good luck |

Hi, To share similar experiences tat I had something with my girlfriend after a not so good start to a dive (where she was over weighted) & on another occasion where she & I had a not so good end to a dive (where the line we were decompressing on was being hauled out of the water - not a good scenario). We sat down after both incidents & taked over what contributed to the worsening of the situations & what we could have done differently to avoid any potential nightmares. We then referred back to our initial training. Where it says "Plan your dive - Dive your plan". I treasure this phrase now & each & every article I read I see this phrase leap from its pages. As, well as holding true to your instincts (which is what kept us from injury on both occassion) we promised to be honest with ourselves & never do anything that we weren't: 1) able to do within our skill set. I've recently got into Tech diving after some articles I read in dive magasines & on a site called the magicsnorkel Tec diving was something I thought was dangerous. This is not the case & is only considered so by those non technical divers that dont/misunderstand its application. In fact I feel more vunerable recreational diving than I do technical diving as a result of the lack of back up/ redundancy of kit. Also, forums are great but unregulated so information & opinions that users provide (which most certainly includes mine & the above) should not be taken whole heartedly but in fact should be questioned for its validity & accuracy. After, that should be thoroughly researched before aplying it. Hope that reads well & from the heart - Diving is beautiful when done safely ;-) |
